Job Summary:
As Patient Intake Representative at Breath of Life you will be a key member of our team. Your role will include working with the referrals, families, and clinical staff to ensure timely set up and training for all referrals. You will work as a liaison between multiple areas/people including external partners (physicians, clinicians, agencies, etc.) as well our internal team including customer service, respiratory therapy, inventory, and delivery and billing. You will play a critical role in ensuring referrals are handled efficiently, and with proper funding sources in place. Your sales acumen, product knowledge, billing and compliance resources, and customer relationship skills will be essential to your success in this role.
Job Duties:
- Receive and process referrals from healthcare providers and patients for durable medical equipment.
- Work Sales team to ensure ongoing relationships.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for DME services.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to gather necessary information and clarify requirements.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information and equipment orders.
- Coordinate with internal teams to schedule equipment delivery, setup, or pickup.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with billing and reimbursement specialists to resolve any insurance-related issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, insurance policies, and product knowledge related to durable medical equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare, or a related field.
- Proven track record in medical equipment or healthcare setting.
- Excellent understanding of medical equipment specifications and industry standards.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency computer software programs.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work independently.
Hours:
- 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
