Vivo Infusion Patient Resource Specialist:
The individual in this position will be responsible for reviewing insurance benefits including any financial responsibilities with patients. The Patient Resource Specialist will educate and enroll patients in any qualifying financial resource programs and insurance plans. They will act as a liaison between the patient and Patient Access to maximize revenue collection. This individual will ensure that patients understand their insurance benefits and must have the ability to answer any questions regarding financial concerns.

Compensation: $23.00-24.00 / hour

Reports To: Patient Resource Manager
Primary role responsibilities:
• Educate and inform patients on insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
• Ensure patients are evaluated, educated and enrolled in medication/administration assistance programs, external and internal financial programs.
• Manage a case load of patients in an assigned territory, build a relationship with patients, answer questions and act as an advocate for patient needs around insurance and financial management of healthcare expenses.
• Ensure access to the best financial resources available for patients with consideration of company revenue.
• Input all documentation of conversations with patients and insurance carriers into EMR.
• Effectively convey written and verbal information to patients, patient families, supervisors, insurance contacts, and Clinical Operations (COPs) staff
• Interface with the Patient Access Department on insurance eligibility and benefits
• Communicate and maintain contact with Patient Access and management regarding patient’s accounts, which include subjects such as: COB issues, EOBs, APPs, authorizations/referrals to discuss patient responsibility portions.
• Communicate with the Patient Access and COPs regarding patient concerns, providing solutions to patient’s issues or following up on additional assistance needed from leadership.
• Investigate any insurance issue concerning loss of coverage and determine a course of action (i.e. Appeals, Dept. of Labor, and Dept. of Insurance)
• Review EOBs and account notes to assess and advise on patient responsibility.
• Recommend various insurance options such as Cobra, EGHP, Medicare, and other insurances to analyze and determine a course of action, during open enrollment and as applicable.
• Assist patients with payments, payment plans and/or discuss patient balances, and resolve before the collection process.

• Assist in various projects and perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality
• Develop effective communication for the Home Office to promote a positive image with clinics, patients, visitors, co-workers, physicians, office personnel, and external agencies
• Devote oneself to outstanding customer service for all customers, internal and external
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of eligibility rules and insurance policies
• Encourages team building with staff; demonstrates and supports the MPP PRIDE culture
• Attend necessary meetings related to clinic and department activities
• Travel as needed to home office or other destinations

This role requires travel to Vivo clinics in the Dallas Fort Worth, TX region. The person in this position must be able to operate and drive a vehicle to work sites.
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, type, hear, speak, walk, talk, and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This role requires excellent visual dexterity and manual dexterity.
