(RCM) Department: The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department helps doctors get paid for their services. From clearinghouse enrollments to patient accounts, to insurance claims, our RCM team members help practices grow and succeed financially.
The Career Opportunity: Patient Services Representatives are responsible for patient accounts receivables who are represented by attorneys to ensure accurate and timely follow up regarding case status in an effort to maximize dollars recovered for assigned clients.
Areas of Accountability:
This role is responsible for all processes involved to recover patient balances on subrogation cases from attorneys after max insurance reimbursement has been reached. These processes include a monthly review of outstanding Patient Accounts Receivable, a monthly report sent to each assigned client, printing and mailing approved statements, processing record requests, and communicating with attorneys for status updates and negotiations.
Competencies for Success
Maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with patients, clients, attorneys, and adjusters when processing written and verbal inquiries.
Ability to field attorney questions, fulfill records requests, negotiate reduction letters.
Process patient statement for assigned clinics as requested.
Review and reconcile patient statements for accuracy related to insurance and posting transactions prior to client review or patient statement submission.
Provide timely and accurate feedback to medical billing clients that affect subrogation patient balances.
Provide monthly reporting analysis (via Excel or Adobe) to assigned clients and management.
Maintain goals and benchmarking statistics for assigned clients and adhere to each matrix accordingly by meeting department deadlines.
Identify, report, and address department backlogs swiftly to Department Team Lead/Management.
Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
Provide swift escalation to clients and/or management that have negative implications related to accounts receivable.
Service experience is required.
Experience with medical billing, insurance follow-up, and subrogation (relating to Auto and Personal Injury cases) is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
Ability to multi-task and deal with high volumes of incoming calls and processing high volumes of patient statements.
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, Salesforce, ShareFile is preferred.
Prior experience in chiropractic billing, especially with ChiroTouch, is a plus.
