Job Summary:

Burlington Concrete & Asphalt Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Paving Machine Operator and Crew Foreman with experience in estimation and sales. This role is ideal for someone who is not only proficient in asphalt paving operations but can also lead teams, estimate projects, and contribute to business growth by securing new leads.

This person will play a key role in overseeing both asphalt and concrete projects, ensuring that all projects meet our high standards for craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction. With a focus on commercial work, including government, county, and railroad projects, the ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable moving between on-site leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

• Operate Asphalt Machinery: Skillfully operate asphalt paving machinery (PB 650 machines) and roller machines to apply asphalt on commercial projects.
• Project Leadership: Lead a crew on-site, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards, on schedule, and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Concrete Work: Perform and manage secondary concrete tasks, including curbs and ADA compliance work, with precision and attention to detail.
• Client Management & Sales: Meet with commercial clients to assess repair needs, estimate costs for both asphalt and concrete jobs, and close sales for new projects.
• Estimations: Accurately estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs for asphalt and concrete projects, including government and county work.
• Business Development: Proactively bring in new leads through client outreach, site visits, and building relationships with potential customers.
• Project Execution: Oversee the rolling and striping of asphalt surfaces, ensuring that projects meet design specifications and client expectations.
• Training: Train new crew members on both machine operation and project execution to ensure a high-performing and safe team.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring machines are in optimal working condition before and during projects.

• 5+ years of proven experience operating asphalt paving machines and leading crews, particularly in commercial settings.
• Strong knowledge of both asphalt and concrete work, including rolling, striping, curbs, and ADA compliance.
• Estimation Experience: Ability to estimate both asphalt and concrete jobs, ensuring accurate costing and client satisfaction.
• Sales Acumen: Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to estimate, pitch, and sell projects to commercial clients, including government contracts.
• Ability to manage diverse projects, including county, government, and railroad work, with clients like AmericTrack and CSX.
• Mechanical aptitude for maintaining and troubleshooting paving machinery.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials and equipment.
