Payments Specialist - Sparks Group

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a non- profit organization in Charlotte to identify a payments professional to support a grants department. Well qualified candidates will be proficient in MS Dynamics and MS Office, with a client facing demeanor. 

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct services in support of employee disaster and hardship relief, to include, where appropriate, providing immediate turnaround of applications, processing checks, facilitating grant distributions and conducting additional due diligence as required.
• Review grant requests; collect, organize and analyze information from grant applicants to verify requested need and assure all grants are awarded in accordance with the appropriate program guidelines.
• Deliver prompt, quality service and assistance to grant applicants throughout the entire application and review process via telephone and e-mail.
• Process award and decline letters, grant checks and evaluation reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records; track grant requests, approvals and declinations; authorize and monitor grant payments
• Serve as reference source for alternative sources of financial assistance.
  

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Four-year degree preferred, skills and experience paramount
• Social services or claims processing background
• Experience in case management, grants administration or similar work preferred
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Customer service orientation and experience
• Multi-lingual a plus
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• “Get it done” attitude to provide highest levels of customer service to those directly in need of funds
• Ability to work independently and carry out delegated responsibilities with little supervision
• Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and related database applications
