Position Overview:The purpose of this position is to administer the payroll processing and execution of pay for multi-state employees.
Essential Job Functions:- Responsible for payroll functions, including processing payrolls and calculations of payments. Maintains production records, timesheets, and individual ad hoc l payment request forms into the Workday database system.
- Responsible for preparing and processing garnishment payments to federal, state and local jurisdictions for wage attachments and child support
- Responsible for completing verification of employment for a variety of agencies
- Oversee the calculation of wages, payments and deductions to ensure compliance with supplemental payments.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls, policies and procedures for all payroll activities
- Maintain knowledge of organizational pay practices, payroll administration, DOL and State pay labor laws and Federal and state regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and ensure all payroll information is maintained in accordance with relevant laws.
- Requires attention to detail for accuracy of pay.
- Answer employee questions and troubleshooting issues to as deemed appropriate for resolution.
- Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish department and organizational goals.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High School diploma required. College courses or certifications preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional, preferred
- 3 years’ experience in payroll processing
- Strong demonstrated proficiency in Workday preferred
- 3 years’ experience using payroll software, required, i.e. ADP, Workday, PeopleSoft 8.0
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), required
- Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
