Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a Payroll, Benefits, and Credentialing Specialist. In this role you will administer payroll, manage employee benefits, and oversee credentialing processes to ensure regulatory compliance. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, timely credentialing of healthcare professionals, and supports employee inquiries. Working closely with the HR department, the specialist contributes to streamlined systems and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee hours, deductions, bonuses, and other compensations.
- Review and verify payroll data, addressing discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update payroll information by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
- Prepare payroll reports for accounting, budgeting, and auditing purposes.
- Manage benefits programs, including health insurance, 401k plans, FSA/HSA, and other employee benefits.
- Conduct benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, coordinating with providers to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee open enrollment, communicate changes, and address employee questions.
- Facilitate and manage the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports such as 401(k), ACA, and other required documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll, benefits, and credentialing documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee and provider information in accordance with company and legal standards.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and credentialing, providing timely and professional support.
- Continuously seek ways to streamline payroll, benefits, and credentialing processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor standards.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll/credentialing software.
Work Environment:
This position operates within the HR department in an office setting, with minimal travel required. Occasional remote work may be available. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is expected to meet tight deadlines for payroll processing and compliance.
