About the Job
Avance Care is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic Human Resources team. We're looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring accuracy in payroll processing and benefits administration while contributing to the overall success of our organization.
As our Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for payroll processing, benefits administration, and related HR functions. This role requires a keen eye for detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues before they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely for all employees
- Handle benefits administration, including supporting open enrollment, employee inquiries, and COBRA administration
- Complete and file all quarterly and annual payroll taxes
- Process government filings including ACA reporting
- Perform internal audits to ensure accuracy of HRIS system, benefits, and payroll administration
- Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Collaborate with team members on projects and initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant regulations

Work Environment
- This position requires working on-site at our office two days per week
- The role involves significant computer work, including extensive use of spreadsheets and databases
