Job Location: San Rafael, California
Pay Rate: $35-$37/hour
Job Type: Temporary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Are you a detail-oriented Payroll/Benefits Specialist with experience in payroll processing and benefits management? We are seeking a temporary specialist to join our team for the next couple of months.

In this role, you will:
- Review and process timekeeping documents for biweekly payroll using Paychex.
- Maintain records for employee payroll deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related factors.
- Prepare and submit payroll data to our contracted payroll service, verifying checks and general ledger entries.
- Audit payroll transactions, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Act as the point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, leave balances, and deductions.
- Serve as a liaison with benefits providers, resolving issues and explaining rules and coverage to employees.

Experience Required:
- Prior experience with payroll and benefits administration.
- Familiarity with payroll software (Paychex preferred) and computerized financial systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, auditing, and financial reporting processes.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining payroll and HR records.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees, vendors, and clients.
