IntelliTrans, (ITL), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a Payroll & Billing Specialist join our Finance team in Conway, Arkansas.
Position Summary:
The Payroll & Billing Specialist will be part of a dynamic accounting team. This person will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing working closely with human resource team. The Payroll & Billing Specialist will also be integral part of the revenue team assisting with customer billing and collections.
Position Responsibilities:
50% Payroll
- Process multi-state bi-weekly payroll under strict deadlines while ensuring all entries and system outputs are compliance with all federal and state laws
- Works with HR team to aggregate employee data relating to new hires, terminations, bonuses, commissions
- Maintain local time & expense system
- Reviews and reconcile monthly and quarterly tax filings
- Maintain transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, deductions, and codes
- Communicates with state agencies, payroll software team, and corporate payroll team for any tax filing discrepancies
- Stays up to date with state and federal payroll tax withholding laws
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- First point of contact by employees for time attendance and payroll issues
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors Facilitate communication between IntelliTrans Finance, HR and Roper HR/Payroll
- Facilitate process improvements and process documentation to streamline and optimize processes
- Assist with any future payroll or time keeping system changes
50% Billing
- Assist with customer maintenance, customer invoicing, and research
- Responsible for accounts receivable management and reducing risk
- Primary contact for customer invoice collections, communications and follow up
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare various schedules and analysis
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, General (preferred) or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 3+ years related job experience in payroll processing, payroll taxes and labor laws
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), a plus
- Proficient in Excel and complex worksheets, pivot tables, etc.
- Experience in UltiPro (UKG), Databasics (or similar) a plus
- Experience with ERP billing systems a plus
- Experience with state and federal payroll tax laws
- Experience with customer billing and collections a plus
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of payroll and wage laws
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll
- In-depth knowledge of payroll operating systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to reconcile various reports
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction in meeting deadlines
- Organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
