Payroll Clerk - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Position: Payroll Clerk
Pay: $30-$35/hr
Location: Alameda
Duties:
- Process Payroll for 300+ employees: Collect and verify timekeeping information, calculate wages, overtime, and deductions (such as taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, etc.).
- Maintain Payroll Records: Update payroll systems with employee details such as job titles, pay rates, hours worked, and any other relevant information.
- Issue Payments: Prepare and distribute payroll via direct deposit, checks, or other payment methods.
- Handle Payroll Inquiries: Respond to employee questions regarding their pay, deductions, and benefits.
- Prepare Reports: Generate payroll reports for management, tax filings, and audits.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance: Collaborate with HR on employee changes (new hires, terminations, etc.) and the finance department for budget and accounting purposes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred)
- 3-5 years payroll experience
- Understanding of labor laws and tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with payroll software Kronos
