Payroll Specialist/Accounting Assistant - Cascade Living Group

As the Payroll Specialist/Accounting Assistant for Cascade Living Group, you will be responsible for supporting the Payroll of communities and assisting the accounting team. This position will interact daily with other members of the accounting department and with Cascade Living Group communities as required.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance Business Office Certificate or the equivalent of two or more years of relevant experience with progressive advancement
• Strong technical skills (excellent Excel skills required)
• Experience using multi-entity property management software such as Yardi.

Compensation:

• $24.50 - $26.50/hour
  Depending on Experience

Working as a Payroll Specialist/Accounting Assistant at our Salem office you will:

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of semi-monthly and monthly payrolls for communities located in multi-state locations.
• Review and process transactions including benefit changes, special compensation, and other adjustments including 401(k) and FSA, and work with service providers to resolve inquiries and/or provide employee training
• Coordinate with the Accounting team to process new hires, terminations, leaves, and other changes
• Manage regulatory filings, notices, audits, and other communications from federal and state agencies.
• Ensure new hire tax statuses and any W-4 allowance changes are correctly processed.
• Assist employees with payroll and HR-related questions or concerns
• Oversee electronic payments and distribution of payroll checks.
• Assist the Community Accountants for Unclaimed Properties, Deposits, PCards, Research bank discrepancies, Balance Sheet discrepancies, submitting aged receivables with collection company, uploading Yardi Documents and other duties as needed
• Acting as a liaison between Paylocity and the Salem office.
