Additionally, this role ensures compliance with payroll regulations and provides employee support on payroll and benefits inquiries. This role reports to the Compensation and Benefits Manager and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

Job Details
- What You Will Do:
- · Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- · Manage employee data changes, including salary adjustments, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions
- · Ensure proper payroll approvals and audit payroll reports for discrepancies prior to submission
- · Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues related to pay discrepancies
- · Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all employee data is accurate and up-to-date
- · Oversee benefits enrollment and ensure accurate deduction of employee benefits, including health, retirement, and other welfare programs
- · Administer retirement plans, ensuring timely employee contributions and employer match processing
- · Work closely with benefits providers to address employee questions and issues
- · Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process, ensuring proper communication and execution of changes
- · Administer leave balances and ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws
- · Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly accrual reports to finance
- · Analyze payroll and benefits costs to support financial planning and budgeting
- · Manage HR-related invoicing, including vendor payments for benefits, payroll services, and other HR-related expenses
- · Assist in monitoring the HR department’s budget and expenditures, providing analysis when needed
What We Require:
- · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll
- · Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- · Attention to Detail
- · Experience with Paylocity (preferred, not required)
- · Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- · Interpersonal skills.
- · Proficiency in Excel
- · Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
