We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Permanent Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll, audit, and ACH transactions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute significantly to our company’s financial operations while working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
1. Managing and processing all aspects of payroll operations for our employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Conducting regular audits of payroll data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
3. Handling all ACH transactions, including set-up, modifications, and troubleshooting.
4. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports related to wages, payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits.
5. Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
6. Collaborating with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data.
7. Staying updated with the latest changes in tax and labor laws that may impact payroll.
8. Assisting in the implementation of new payroll policies and procedures as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll specialist role, preferably within the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in payroll software and a strong understanding of ACH transactions.
3. Excellent knowledge of auditing procedures and experience conducting payroll audits.
4. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address and resolve payroll queries.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
9. High degree of professionalism and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
10. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
