Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its growing team.

1. Managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for both biweekly and monthly payroll.
2. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
3. Coordinating with the HR department to verify that employee benefits and payroll are properly processed.
4. Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
5. Handling and resolving payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
6. Developing, managing, and maintaining comprehensive payroll records.
7. Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.
8. Handling changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles as it pertains to payroll management.
9. Ensuring all payroll processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.
10. Performing other duties as assigned.
Job Details
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience with biweekly payroll and multistate payroll.
3. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is highly preferred.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular focus on Excel.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
8. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and senior management.
9. Knowledge of payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and best practices.
10. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
