Pediatric Physical Therapist - Mission Edge

About the Job
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to provide co-teaching support within the developmental playgroups
- Deliver small group and direct services to children with diverse physical abilities, focusing on motor skills development, mobility, and overall physical well-being.
- Conduct home visits to provide physical therapy services to children in the comfort of their own homes.
- Assess each child's needs and develop individualized treatment plans to address their specific physical challenges.
- Co-create and facilitate transdisciplinary early intervention-focused curriculum with a team of other therapists and teachers.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, techniques, and interventions to improve children's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and mobility.
- Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and any related administrative tasks.
- Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and involve them in goal-setting and treatment planning.
Requirements:
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or early intervention setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and the impact of physical challenges on overall well-being.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children of all abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a pilot program and work in a collaborative, innovative environment.
- Genuine belief in the power of inclusion.
- Regular access to reliable transportation.
- Approx. 15 hours per week providing home visits therapy to our clients.
- Approx. 4-6 hours collaboration and planning time.
- Approx. 19 hours per week teaching our preschool program, community classes and therapeutic playgroups
- Standing for 2+ plus hours per day
- Stooping, bending, climbing, and walking frequently
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
