Mission or Goal of Unit: Children’s Hospital ofRichmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System has committeditself to transforming the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicineinto a model academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching,and clinical, translational, and basic research. Chief Purpose of this position: The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary and SleepMedicine at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is seeking an individualat the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank to join our team. Responsibilitieswill include mentored development of an academic career in pediatric pulmonarymedicine, with an emphasis on excellence in clinical care and teaching withopportunities for research provided to candidates as indicated. Position Responsibilities: Clinical: Faculty member will provide clinical care inpediatric pulmonary and/or sleep medicine, both in the outpatient and inpatientsetting. Will work weekends and takecall as necessary. Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilitiesin the area of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Faculty member willprovide teaching and mentorship to Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows.
Research: Research aspirations areencouraged but not required; support for these activities will depend uponprior accomplishments and potential.
Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental orSchool of Medicine committees when appropriate, as well in a professionalcapacity in their field, e.g.: reviewer, conference organizer, etc.
