Per Diem Medical Director for Hospice and Palliative Care
At Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, we are looking for dependable, compassionate people interested in gaining experience and becoming an invaluable resource to our organization. VNA of Ohio is looking for a Per Diem Medical Director for Hospice and Palliative Care. The position is responsible for providing oversight of the medical component of the interdisciplinary palliative care and hospice plan of care.

Responsibilities:Principal Responsibilities:
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Consults with, diagnoses and treats patients suitable for hospice and palliative care in the service areas of the agency, within private residences, extended care facilities, hospitals and other facilities
- Completes documentation required for billing for services provided
- Acts as a resource to the medical community and hospice field staff regarding symptom management, palliative care and hospice care
- Develops and provides educational programs for community physicians, medical and agency staff regarding hospice and palliative care
- Assists with developing medical policies and procedures to ensure services provided are in accordance with highest quality, professional and ethical standards
- Provides hospice medical direction in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited school.
- Current and valid license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio
- Maintain all applicable certifications and active license and DEA numbers
- Knowledge of Federal and Sate regulations, practices and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Computer skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Services provided in patient’s home and/or hospice office.
