Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to obtain company-sponsored CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire
Must be able to read, write and understand English
Must have the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Must have basic knowledge of proper food handling and appliances/equipment use found in clients' home
Must have knowledge of basic principles of cleanliness and safety
Must be able to demonstrate a capacity for a high level of tolerance to occasional, stressful situations
Must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the caregiver role through a friendly, caring attitude
Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of integrity and dependability in commitment to and in completion of work assignments
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to complete a skills validation test
Must maintain a current Colorado driver's license, in good standing and necessary auto insurance as required by the state law
Ideal Qualifications:
Shows compassion, patience, and a positive attitude, and provides excellent care
Properly manages and implements prescribed behavioral programs with aggressive, self-abuse, and non-compliant individuals
Responsibilities:
Comprehensive supervision of the client
Documents timely daily client notes and monthly reports within Company software
Achieve a minimum of 12 hours of training through mandatory company-wide huddles and other training.
Supervising, planning, and participating in activities with clients.
Support clients with specific needs and activities of daily living (ADL), bathrooms, hygiene, eating, etc.
Assists with instrumental activities of daily living, shopping, appointments outside the home, etc.
Stays accessible and in contact with management and reports any concerns or incidents in a timely fashion
Work shifts promptly and as scheduled.
Has access to reliable transportation, provides insurance/registration in a timely manner, and drives clients safely.
Keeps required certifications updated and maintains personal compliance.
Will be responsible for transporting clients or traveling to client locations within employees' assigned working zone.
May be requested to travel to a client location outside employees' work zone as needed.
Maybe be required to help during a hospital stay if requested
Performs other duties and takes directions from clients or client families as needed
Reports adverse behaviors and/or incidents as required and notifies supervisor of changes in clients' condition
Respectful of leadership, is a team play and promotes a positive company culture
Observation and maintenance of the home environment that ensures the safety and security of those we serve
Assistance with household chores including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning and laundry
Assistance in completing activities such as shopping, and appointments outside the home
Companionship includes, but not limited to, social interactions, conversation, emotional reassurance, encouragement of reading, writing and activities the stimulate the mind
Assistance with activities of daily living, personal care and any other assignments as included in the service plan
Completion of appropriate service notes regarding service provision each visit. Documentation shall contain service proved, ate and time in and out and a confirmation that care was provided.
And other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Additional IHSS Responsibilities:
Function within your knowledge and experience, practicing safely and competently within HMA training and experience.
Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal communication with client, caregiver, and employees. Including: Performing and demonstrating competency with personal care assignments and tasks for which you have had training and experience and as assigned by the RN Supervisor. - Basic First Aid - Infection control measures - Proper body mechanics - Environmental cleanliness and safety - Meal preparation - Proper care and use of appliances/equipment - Follow established assignment - Accurate documentation of services rendered
Comply with applicable regulations; including but not limited to providing accurate documentation of services provided to client and client activity, protect the client’s health care information and report potential fraud and abuse to the compliance officer.
Consistently use proper body mechanics and use proper infection control techniques to maintain environmental safety for you and your client (s).
Remain familiar with and respect the RHC Patient’s Bill of Rights and Responsibilities.
Inform RHC of your availability and desire for work assignments and honor your commitment to work assignments that you accept.
Participate with staff meetings/in-services as assigned.
Remain familiar with RHC’s organizational structure and channels of communication.
Comply with RHC’s Employee Policies and Procedures, (PPR) including submitting timesheets according to assigned timelines.
Consistently function as a member of the care and services team and RHC employee’s in a positive manner.
Seek supervisory guidance whenever you have a question as to a specific task or responsibility.
Participate in continuing educational programs, as requested.
Use your skills and individuality to communicate to management areas where operations/patient care can be improved.
Perform other duties as assigned by your position and qualifications.
You must make RHC aware of your allergy or special needs.
Ensure client's safety and security by supervising the home environment.
All employees are expected to conduct themselves as a representative of RHC. This means behavior that may adversely impact company property, reputation, and services or interfere with work will not be tolerated.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, & walking.
Able to carry bundles upstairs weighing up to 10 pounds
Ability to stoop and bend
Properly manage aggressive/non-compliant individuals and be able to implement prescribed behavioral programs.
Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use mechanical lifts where required, and transfer individuals correctly
Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment (smoking not allowed during client visits)
