About the Job
The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) manages the Pharmacy Staff and is responsible for appropriately dispensing prescribed drugs in a clinical environment. The PIC oversees and directly handles incoming physician calls, logging data into the computer, performing Rx workflow processing, transferring prescriptions, and conducting drug utilization reviews.
This is a clinic-based position located inside of the Five Horizons health clinic in Dothan, AL (1891 Honeysuckle Road.) This is a new pharmacy location, scheduled to open early January 2025.
About the Role:
- Manage the daily operations of the pharmacy, always maintaining the highest quality of pharmaceutical services
- Foster business growth and control expenses for the pharmacy
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
- Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs and supplies
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions
- Direct and perform pharmacy activities and manage workflow efficiency
- Keep abreast of changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs
- Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel as appropriate to provide quality patient care and efficient operations
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Uphold a clean, customer-friendly workplace, and always project a positive attitude
- Maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with company standards, including dress, personal appearance, and grooming
- Occasionally travel for business if/when needed
- Pharmacy hours: Mon, Wed, Fri: 8AM-5PM, Thurs: 9AM-6PM and Fri: 8:30AM -12:30PM
About You:
- Bachelor’s or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university
- 2+ years of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred
- Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience preferred
- Pharmacist license in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy in the State of Alabama
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- 340B experience preferred
- AAHIVP certification preferred
- Certifications in different areas of Pharmacy a plus
- Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx, QSI, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
- Proactive self-starter with high degree of initiative and strong follow-up skills
- Able to efficiently mentor, motivate, and manage pharmacy staff while fostering positive customer relations
- Perform in accordance with company policies and standards
