POSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Director assumes 100% accountability for overseeing the Denver pharmacy operation which includes Customer Care, Order Processing, Production, Inventory, and Staff Pharmacists. KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Pharmacy Director reports directly to the Regional Director. This position leads the Operations Management team and directs team on standard processes and initiatives as related to Pharmacy Operations, both internally and externally. This position leads the Pharmacy Manager, Operations Manager, Quality and Compliance Manager, and Inventory Manager. This position works with management and team members in pharmacy operations, quality and compliance, customer experience and pharmacy transitions, sales and marketing, accounting, vendors, couriers, inventory and purchasing, billing, consulting, logistics, and inventory to achieve overall service level goals. This position also work with customers, including, but not limited to; nurses, center staff, prescribers, providers, and participants.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Management
- Provide leadership and direction to build effective teams.
- Plan for growth with proven success at building succession within the region by utilizing internal and external sources
- Responsible for process to optimize efficiencies, contain labor costs, and meeting established labor standards.
- Implements, maintains and reports on core pharmacy processes.
- Works with supervisor and quality team on efficiency, safety and accuracy with team members.
- Facilitates team member professional development by conducting on-the-job training, performance appraisals, and needs assessments. Responsible for recommending and assisting in the development of training curricula.
- Responsible for identifying talent and developing capabilities at the operational level
- Creates an environment that will attract and retain talent by maintaining a positive supportive culture via Grane Rx Core values.
- Collaborates with leaders and HR partner to monitor turnover/retention, identifying possible opportunities and implement solutions
- Provides ongoing performance feedback

- Strategically plan operational growth as it pertains to people development, store alignments and operational staffing needs
- Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within pharmacy operations to ensure set productivity targets are met.
- Proven track record in attracting, selecting, developing and holding leaders accountable for performance
Financial
- Analyze KPI’s for Pharmacy Operations Team (customer care call center, order processing, and pharmacy PV1/PV2, Production/Fulfillment), and works with other functional areas to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Ensure pharmacy is managing controllable expenses.
- Collaborates effectively with functional partners to ensure the security of physical company assets
- Develop and adhere to budgetary requirements.
- Maintain all required reporting responsibilities.
- Work with Senior Management on annual strategic planning and manage budget to meet cost-per-fill goals
- Work with Senior Managment on yearly budget process
- Manage and achieve the overall budget for Operations of Denver Pharmacy location
Operations
- Develop, implement, and have governance over standard processes established internally or with customer
- Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize, meet deadlines and follow-up on projects, request, and other activities
- Champions operational excellence to maximize efficiencies and deliver results
- Collaborates with Regional Director and Chief Pharmacy Officer to ensure efficiency, meet productivity metrics and avoid duplication of efforts and waste through cross communication and internal controls
- Ensures that the Pharmacy Operations team is maintaining high standards according to company directives
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve performance through regular business analysis, and soliciting feedback from customer, management, and team members
- Works with Pharmacy Operations team on the cross team workflow process, defining functional area strategies for accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Oversees methods and procedures for achieving customer demand and minimizing cost impacts to for Pharmacy Operations teams
- Ensures Pharmacy Operations teams are in compliance with laws and regulations
- Evaluate current policy and procedures and practices to accomplish Pharmacy Operations team objectives.
- Implement improved procedures and practices
- Work closely with the Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure that team is meeting service levels and to seek ways to improve operational performance
- Establish operational metrics and productivity levels
- Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators set
- Develops, reviews, and recommends methods of operational improvement involving equipment, systems, corrections, activities and practices.
- Measures performance compliance and requirements and directs appropriate actions by team members and equipment to maintain performance at or above required levels
- Within the guidelines of authorized Company policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and good business ethics, directs, coordinates, and controls the activities, plans, and programs of the immediate staff, enforces company policies and procedures
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
- Competent in software systems that include FrameworkLTC, FrameworkECM, Omnicell, SalesForce, Tableau, Business Objects

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of BS Pharmacy or PharmD is required
- Pharmacist Licensure for Colorado required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as pharmacist required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role required
- Pharmacy operations experience preferred
- Long Term Care or PACE pharmacy experience preferred
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma and Standard Work processes
- Knowledge of pharmacy automation and pharmacy software
- Continuous improvement and quality centric focus
- Must complete state required pharmacy continuing education requirements for licensure
- PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft office
- Travel up to 25%
