Compensation: Non-exempt, $21.10/HR-$34.43/HR

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician is responsible for providing technical support to ensure appropriate pharmaceutical care for patients of Mason Health.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Works under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist according to state and federal lawsEnsures appropriate distribution of medications for both inpatients and outpatients. This includes but is not limited to sterile compounding, bar code scanning, and automated dispensing devices.Inputs outpatient prescriptionsFills inpatient and outpatient medicationsOrders medications and ensures appropriate inventory for operationsPre-packages medicationsPractices sterile compounding according to USP 797 guidelinesBills patients and departments for medicationsProvide assistance to other healthcare practitioners such as nurses, respiratory therapists, etc.Performs medication history inquiries for medication reconciliation (specialized duty)Performs support and assistance with prescription assistance program(s), including but not limited to working with patients on applications, requesting prior authorizations, coordinating applications and appeals, managing complex cases, and tracking and distributing program information (including O-Drive requests); and assist with vaccines. (specialized duty)Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician Technical School or 3 years hospital experience
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Current Washington state Pharmacy Technician license.One year certificate from college or technical school, or related experience and/or training that meets the Washington State Board of Pharmacy requirements for licensure.PI253907298
