JOB SUMMARY AND SPECIFICATIONS

• JOB SUMMARY

  • Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, assists in processing medication orders, patient billing and accounts, sales of other products or services; assists in maintaining facilities, equipment and inventories; and contributes to performance improvement efforts to maximize profits and increase revenue.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist pharmacist in prescription fulfillment process.
  • Maintain pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy software requiring reading prescription, translating information into corresponding system codes, completingall necessary fields required to process prescription.
  • Fill prescriptions, counting medications, mixing or reconstituting medications as needed, labeling prescription containers and operating scanning equipment.
  • Monitorand resolveproblems in the prescription fulfillment process when necessary by processing information for third-party insurance claims and identifying situations requiring pharmacist's action.
  • Assist customers with OTC purchases and locating OTC merchandise and maintaining OTC inventory.
  • Follow quality procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with co-workers to complete tasks assigned.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory and records.
  • Resolves problems related to prescription inquiries.
  • Deliver stock orders to OnSite clinics and MHP locations as required
  • Assist with med packaging service provided to patients.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as required

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional & Technical Skills

    • Good written and oral communication skills and math ability (including ability to work with fractions and percentages). A written math test will be given during the interview.

    • MUST have knowledge and experience completing prior authorizations.
      

  • Education

    • Completion of accredited program

  • License(s) or Certification(s)

    • CPHT licensure
