Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will assist pharmacists in the functions of the department by procuring, preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals to standard policies.

• You will accurately prepare sterile products for pharmacist check
• You will accurately maintain computer patient profiles by entering medication orders and other patient information
• You will accurately prepare and label medications for final check and dispensing by the Pharmacist
• You will promptly respond to request and customer needs
• You will deliver medications and provide other distributional services and quality monitoring for patient care and ancillary areas
• You will generate computer reports/patient records and maintain paper flow
• You will participate in the quality improvement activities of the department
• You will perform activities related to medication and supply purchasing, inventory control and distribution according to approved policies and procedures
• You will contribute to an efficient, productive workflow within the Pharmacy

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Pharmacy Technician Registration – Required within 1 year of hire
• Sterile Products (IV) Certification through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) – Required within 1 year of hire
