About the Job
*QUALIFICATIONS:* New Jersey Department of Education School Physical
Therapist Certification. Must have a high school diploma
and be in good health. Must have a current physical and
mantoux, successfully completed a drug and alcohol
screening and also undergo a criminal history background
check and finger printing pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1.
*REPORTS TO:* Program Administrators
*JOB GOAL: *To promote the total development of each student within
the school setting through implementation of individual
goals.
*PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1. Participate in the preadmission interview process for new students
2. Develop goals and objectives for students based on their physical needs
3. Provide physical therapy to students as recommended by their IEP
4. Provide classroom support in gross motor activities
5. Participate in an integrated approach of service delivery
6. Follow and implement behavior management plans as developed by school psychologist
and classroom teacher
7. Consult with classroom staff regarding positioning of students
8. Train classroom staff in the use of adaptive equipment
9. Recommend and order equipment to meet student needs
10. Keep inventory of all adaptive equipment
11. Maintain a log of services rendered
12. Complete monthly semi report and submit at the first of each month.
13. Be available to parents for discussion of physical therapy program
14. Participate in scheduled staff, department and case management meetings.
15. Participate in department meetings to discuss, plan, and problem solve for the betterment
of the physical therapy department
16. Attend workshops and in-service programs to aid in professional development
17. Demonstrate appropriate planning
18. Collect data weekly
19. Submit narrative present level
20. Submit progress reports quarterly
21. Implement and follow administrative regulations and directives as stated in Board Policy
and State Law
22. Collaborate with other staff members in educational and therapeutic matters, maintaining
positive lines of communication
23. Serve on volunteer committees
24. Maintain communication with parents
25. Be knowledgeable about all medical and emergency policies and work in conjunction
with the school nurse
26. Become familiar with and implement the school’s philosophy, rules, and personnel
policies
27. Uphold confidentiality at all times.
28. Speak positively about Larc School.
29. Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
30. Maintain a positive working relationship with staff members.
31. Demonstrate self motivation and a willingness to learn.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $30,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 14.00 per week
