Job Description:
Candidates will work in a very collegial atmosphere working alongside great support staff and seasoned providers. Join us and you will also find supportive, collaborative colleagues; strong patient/provider relationships; comprehensive resources and advanced technologies.
Day shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, night shift home call: 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM, weekend 24-hour home call
Night float available for one week at a time if interested
Call ratio: approximately once every 4 weeks for full-time staff
Average surgical cases per day: 10-12
Average pain management cases: 0
Supervision of CRNAs required, care team model, solo on call
Trauma Level III
4 full-time Anesthesiologists in practice
No responsibility for preparing the anesthesia cart
Patient age demographic: 1 year and older
Required procedures: General surgical cases (adult & pediatric), minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, plexus anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, regional anesthesia, obstetrical cases
Pain management procedures: acute cases
Required insertions: central line, arterial line
Responsible for evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
Documentation System/EMR: Epic

Pen Bay Medical Center:
Pen Bay Medical Center, the largest community hospital in mid-coast Maine, was originally founded in 1901 as Knox County General Hospital. Starting with just 11 beds, the hospital expanded over the decades through renovations and additions, eventually becoming a 106-bed acute care facility in 1975.
