Physician Assistant/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist Medicine - Maine Health

This is a highly skilled professional patient care position responsible, within the parameters defined by regulation of the State of Maine,The Maine Medical Center and the Department for the assessment and management of patients. In addition, the Physician Assistant iscontinuously involved in the clinical teaching of Maine Medical Center House Officers and medical students during their respectiverotations. The Physician Assistant is responsible for the undertaking and completion of assigned departmental administrative tasks suchas preparation of x ray rounds.

Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association approved primary care physician assistant education program. Maintaincertification.

License/Certifications: Certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.

Experience: N/A

Ability to effectively establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with staff physicians, nursing and allied healthprofessionals, other hospital staff and patients. Act as liaison between medical and other staff.

Registration with the Maine State Board of Registration in Medicine.

Ability to perform routine technical skills including suturing, phlebotomy and arterial puncture for diagnostic and therapeuticpurposes.

Ability to tailor diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to age specific standards for infants, children, adolescents, adults andgeriatric patients.
