Physician Assistant PA- General Surgery - Ascension

We Are Hiring:

• Specialty: General Surgery
• Subspecialty Interest: Surgery
• Schedule: Day Part-Time - 2 /10 hour shifts.  No Nights, weekends, or OR call
• Call Schedule: None
• Practice Detail: This position will assist the acute care general surgery resident team on the floor with rounding, consults, procedures
• EMR System: Medtech
• Facility: St. Agnes Hospital 
• Location: Baltimore, MD

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities:

 

Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision
of a physician.

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provide counseling and education of patient and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What You Will Need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).Verified by local Credentialing Office

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.
