Pit Supervisor - Columbus Quarry - Up to $100K Annual Salary - The Concrete Company (Foley Products)

Columbus Quarry, LLC is growing and we want you to grow with us! We are looking for an experienced Pit Supervisor/Foreman to join our team.

Up to $3,000 sign on bonus! Company Vehicle! Eligible for Annual Incentive!

Position Summary: Responsible for effective operations and maintenance of the pit. This will include finished production as well as execution of proactive and reactive maintenance. Responsible for making and following up on decisions to maximize productivity.

What you will do:

• Plan and schedule plant production to maximize productivity and optimize the utilization of employees, resources, and equipment for the pit.
• Supervise and direct production employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, as well as daily, weekly, and annual performance objectives
• Report daily production and track KPI’s of pit performance
• Ensure material production meets quality control standards
• Promote safe work habits and provide safe working conditions
• Exhibit and enforce safety and company policies. Ensure PPE is used as required
• Effectively communicate daily tasks to the pit team, assign tasks accordingly
• Evaluate employee performance and work with Plant Manager to effect coaching/corrective action as required
• Manage the loading schedule
• Conduct a hazard assessment of work area daily and inform employees of safety hazards found. Ensure safety hazards are effectively abated in timely manner
• Manage the operation of the pit and stripping areas, pit and primary equipment repair and maintenance
• Ensure production levels are at an optimum with a minimum of downtime and mobile equipment is operated correctly
• Provide an example of good leadership
• Ensure operating area works within a defined budget and manages costs within set guidelines
• Generate operating and project budgets for operating area
• Work with management for ongoing pit development plans, ensure implementation of plans
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

What you will need:

• 5+ years working knowledge of quarry production, pit fleet optimization, drilling, blasting, equipment, and processes
• Previous management/supervisory experience required
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Priority emphasis and strong time-management skills
• Analytical abilities and comfort with using data and objective information for making decisions
