Plant Accountant - The Fresh Factory

About the Job
The plant accountant will be a key member of the team in supporting our operations and finance team. In this role you’ll be monitoring daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing performance and providing valuable insights on how we can improve our operations and manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze standard costs of materials, labor, and overhead and ensuring accurate cost allocations for production
- Investigate and report on work order variances (material, labor, and overhead), providing insights into production inefficiencies and driving corrective actionsPrepare and deliver monthly and quarterly KPI reports, including production efficiency, cost performance, and operational metrics to the leadership team
- Collaborate with operations team to review cycle counts, research inventory discrepancies and ensure accurate inventory valuations within the ERP system
- Assist in monthly close process with responsibilities of posting various closing journal entries
- Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts
- Finance lead in new product costing and commercialization process
- Maintain fixed asset register and assist team in reviewing future capital investments
- Assist in yearly budgeting process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years work experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong MS Excel knowledge
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and comfort working in MS Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in ERP systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated and willingness to take on new tasks
