Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing & HVAC Manager to oversee and manage all plumbing and HVAC operations within our organization. This role involves leading a team of skilled technicians, ensuring that all systems are installed, maintained, and repaired according to industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of plumbing and HVAC technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure that team members complete jobs on time and within budget.
Conduct performance reviews, manage staffing needs, and handle hiring for the department as necessary.
System Maintenance & Repairs:
Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, piping, and drainage systems.
Ensure systems are running efficiently, identifying and resolving issues before they lead to breakdowns.
Develop preventive maintenance plans and ensure adherence to those schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Project Management:
Manage HVAC and plumbing installation projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and budget requirements.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction or renovation projects, providing expertise on plumbing and HVAC systems.
Source and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for parts, equipment, and services.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulations to ensure company compliance.
Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Budget & Cost Management:
Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective practices without compromising quality or safety.
Track and report on project and maintenance expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all systems, repairs, and installations.
Customer & Stakeholder Relations:
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and expectations.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, system performance, and any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
Relevant HVAC and plumbing certifications (e.g., HVACR certification, journeyman plumber license, or similar) required.
OSHA certification or similar safety training preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and HVAC maintenance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Experience with both residential and commercial systems is a plus.
Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and large-scale projects.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, codes, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with project management or maintenance
