About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Postpartum Manager - Mother Baby (Postpartum) **Job Duration:** 28 Weeks **Shift:** 8H Days, 5x8s **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years required **License:** Active RN license required for submission **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) **Must-Have:** - Knowledge of Mother Baby care - Postpartum experience or Labor and Delivery experience - Management experience required - Cerner experience required - No first-time travelers **Job Description:** - Oversee the postpartum unit, providing care to post-partum, mother and baby couplets, and Gyn patients. - Manage a unit with 30 postpartum beds and handle around 275-300 deliveries per month (>3000/year). - Maintain staff ratios of 1:4 for couplet care, and 1:5 if not involving babies. - Coordinate with a team that includes CNAs, unit secretaries, hearing screeners, BC clerks, and lactation consultants. - Work collaboratively with in-house OB hospitalists available 24/7. - Utilize the Cerner charting system for documentation. - Adhere to the unit's navy blue scrub color/dress code. - Participate in a department-specific orientation lasting 5 shifts. - Take occasional calls from staff on weekends when needed. - No floating outside the postpartum unit. - Ensure compliance with the cancellation policy of three shifts per 13-week contract. Please note this position requires a professional with both management skills and hands-on experience in mother-baby postpartum care.
