About the Job
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Solution Design: Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements, define business intelligence objectives, and design Power BI solutions that align with the organization's goals and strategies.
- Data Modeling: Develop data models and data flows to support efficient and accurate data visualization. Design and implement data transformations, aggregations, calculation groups and calculations to create meaningful insights and metrics.
- Data Visualization: Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI. Ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the visualizations and provide insights in a clear and understandable manner.
- Data Integration: Work closely with data engineers and developers to identify and extract data from various sources such as databases, data warehouses, and APIs. Transform and cleanse data as needed for effective analysis and reporting. Implement data security and access controls to ensure data confidentiality.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI solutions for improved performance and scalability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, enhance query performance, and implement caching mechanisms to optimize data retrieval.
- Security and Governance: Implement security measures and data governance policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. Define and enforce data access controls, data classification, and data retention policies in line with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
- Data Refresh and Automation: Schedule and manage data refresh processes to ensure the availability of up-to-date information in Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor Power BI solutions for data accuracy, performance issues, and system health. Proactively identify and resolve issues, perform regular maintenance tasks, and apply necessary updates and patches to keep the system up to date.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, best practices, and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the overall data visualization and analytics capabilities.
- Proven experience as a Power BI Lead or Architect, with expertise in designing and implementing Power BI solutions.
- Experienced in resolving performance issues on large scale BI implementation on big data platforms.
- Experienced in CI/CD and setting up automated testing of Power BI reports
- Experienced in setting up monitoring and alerting for performance and operational issues with Power BI reports and environment.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence concepts
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, M, and Power BI Service
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms GCP and their integration with Power BI is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Microsoft Certified: Power BI Certified is preferred.
