Operations Oversight:
- Provide leadership and direction to all functional areas of the business, including operations, sales, marketing, finance, and human resources.
- Implement efficient operational processes to maximize productivity and profitability.
- Must be capable of scaling operations to meet increasing demand, managing challenges such as production delays, quality control, and strained resources.
- Hands-on with process development, ensuring processes are prepared without external corporate assistance.
Business Development:
- Defend and enhance the company's market position through continuous innovation, product differentiation, and strong customer relationships.
- Engage in direct customer interaction, ensuring value recognition of both products and the company within the marketplace.
- Lead proposal development and contract negotiation efforts.
Finance and Accounting:
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial resources, ensuring optimized financial processes and profitability while investing in growth initiatives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, rate development, cost reporting, and cost tracking.
Supply Chain Management:
- Manage a complex supply chain, ensuring a reliable flow of materials, components, and services to meet growing demand.
- Address potential risks such as disruptions or delays that could impact production.
Manufacturing:
- Shift focus from engineering/sales to manufacturing as the company scales, leveraging strong operations experience to manage delivery and assess risk.
- Recognize and manage skilled labor, ensuring their capacity and capabilities are aligned with production goals.
- Lead labor estimating, capital justification, and capacity analysis efforts.
Core Processes:
- Develop and establish core processes to support the workforce, setting the vision and monitoring the processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recognize areas where processes are missing and implement solutions to improve overall operations.
Leadership:
- Set and share the company vision, engaging in community and industry events to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a positive and inclusive company culture that promotes teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
Strategic Prioritization:
- Balance resources and time, prioritizing tasks to ensure the workforce remains focused and effective.
- Make strategic decisions about what gets done and what must wait, managing both internal and external expectations.
Corporate Governance:
- Lead the company through challenging situations such as economic downturns or regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, adapting processes as the company grows to meet new requirements.
