Working at our world class Innovation Center in Tinley Park, Illinois, and reporting to the Manager, Engineering, you will utilize your deep circuit design and analysis skills to develop products from concept to implementation. The team develops innovative products for all of the business units in Panduit (Enterprise & Data Center, Industrial Automation and Industrial & Electrical). These products include active safety devices, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, wireless devices with a focus on electronic design and circuit development. Your expertise with circuit design (both analog and digital), schematic capture, circuit prototyping, circuit testing, circuit debugging, coordinating multiple vendors, and interfacing directly with the manufacturing organizations will be critical to your success in this role. We will rely on your skill set to develop, test and verify new designs, implement designs into production, and work with vendors and sourcing to support new product launches and lifecycle activities. What You Will Do
- System Design, circuit Design, schematic capture and prototype electronic products
- Test and verify new designs/concept
- Implement designs into production
- Work with vendors and sourcing to define technical requirements for the product/components
- Create and execute test plans for hardware and software validation
- Design and implement electrical stress tests to ensure the reliability of the product
- Design/define and implement test fixtures to verify the circuit boards' and/or systems' functionality for production testing
- BSEE degree (MSEE or higher is a plus preferred)
- 7 or more years of hardware development experience
- Strong analog design expertise
- The ability to work closely with other engineers, lab technicians, product management and customers in a team environment
- Experience with personal computers; MS Word, Excel and Project required
- Microcontroller based hardware design and development experience at the product level
- Digital and Analog (e.g., drivers, power supplies, batteries) hardware design and development experience at the product level
- Working level experience with board support software packages, C, C++, assembly language Manufacturing process experience is a plus (i.e., bringing a product from concept through to volume production)
- Experience in the following areas is required: electronic design and development process, product design and development process, change management system, reliability test, compliance test (performance, environmental and certification), and manufacture test.
- Schematic capture experience is required (Altium Designer is a plus)
- Physical circuit board layout experience (e.g. Altium, OrCAD, Mentor, Cadence Allegro) a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work closely with other engineers, lab technicians, product management and customers in a team environment
