Job Description Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status.BAE Systems is looking for a Principal Process Engineer for their Austin, TX facility
In this role you will perform the following tasks.Provide Process Engineering floor support, guidance, and instruction to operators in support of Circuit Card manufacturing.Perform manufacturing support activities using technical knowledge of generally used assembly practices ensuring the achievement of performance within cost and schedule requirements.Support/Lead factory continuous improvement activities and projects.Develop robust processes and validate new equipment.Oversee process machinery and develop sound programs or methods.Create and maintain process documents that will be followed on the factory floor and production routes for material moving through the factory.Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action
Ensure timely disposition of hardware and assure thorough root cause analysis of discrepant materials.Perform quality audits of hardware, PFMEA’s, First Article Inspections (FAI), monitor defects, and track trends.The candidate must also possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, have proven teamwork and leadership skills, and be able to work across “boundaries” with multiple functions and program teams.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 12 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience
Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership necessary to support the manufacturing team.Strong Electronics Manufacturing Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) aptitude.Ability to present and clearly communicate data to peers, management, and customers.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 10 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 15 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience
