You have completed a BS in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering degree.You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 7 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

• Familiarity with light water reactors and are experienced with the plant system thermal-hydraulic and core response during transients
  
• Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents
  
• Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships
  
• Customer focus and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a passion for problem solving

As a Principal RELAP Safety Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:

• Performing new or revising existing postulated accident analyses using a Framatome version of RELAP5.
• Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design changes on existing Safety Analyses.
• Contributing to methods development activities in support of new fuel products, customer requirements, or changes in the licensing regulations.
• Contributing to the development of automation and software tools to improve operating efficiency or software capabilities.
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful customer delivery.

Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required. Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $121,000 - $164,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
