You will be joining the Inference team that is working on the next generation of model serving that includes hosting OAI models like ChatGPT, hosting models at Bing and Office scale and many exciting problems on the intersection of AI and Cloud.
We are looking for a **Principal Software Engineer** who is passionate about designing and building highly reliable, available platform to support model inferencing at scale.
You will also be expected to work on high throughput/low latency scenarios and drive performance optimization capabilities.

**Responsibilities**
+ As a developer in the team, you will be responsible for designing, coding and testing components of the product, working closely with senior engineers and leaders.
+ You would own the end-to-end life cycle of your features, from inception to managing it live on production.

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ year's experience building and scaling Data plane services.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with low latency serving performance.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
