The desired candidate would have knowledge in lasers, optics, integrated photonics, atomic physics, spectroscopy, mechanical and electrical Engineering, vacuum science, and Key Responsibilities:Lead all aspects of system engineering, for large scale, commercial quantum computers - ensuring all subsystems work cohesively and meet performance requirements.Partner with physics teams to ensure that requirements for engineered systems are understood, mutually compatible, completeDevelop and oversee the end-to-end system design, focusing on scalability, reliability, and system performance.Work closely with quantum physicists, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software developers to align cross-functional goals.Define and manage system requirements, specifications, and engineering documentation.Develop and execute system engineering artifacts for system verification and validation, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.Guide technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring on-time delivery.Drive continuous improvement in system development processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure the highest quality and reliability.Lead trade studies to assess system architectures and guide the selection of technologies and vendors.Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in.Mentor junior engineersYOU MUST HAVE:Bachelor’s degree minimumMinimum 8+ years of experience in system engineering, hardware design, or system integration roles.Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S
