Our client is a leading global manufacturer specializing in synthetic filaments for a wide range of applications. They are seeking a Process Engineer for their plant in the midlands of South Carolina.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in optimizing production processes within a manufacturing environment, possess a strong track record in cross-departmental collaboration, technical troubleshooting, and data-driven decision-making.
Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for driving continuous optimization of production processes and plant technology by collaborating with specialized departments to develop and implement improvement ideas.
Responsibilities
Drive ongoing optimization of production processes and plant technologies, working closely with specialized departments to generate ideas for enhancing plant efficiency and processes.
Align plants with consistent methodologies and technology standards to ensure top productivity and quality.
Assist in launching new processes, products, and technologies, including developing and testing innovative measurement methods.
Prepare and conduct production and technology trials as specified, supporting product and process optimization within project work and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate trial objectives with leadership.
Provide technical support for trial planning, including machine settings and process parameter optimization.
Organize necessary technical modifications to achieve trial goals.
Test and evaluate textile-physical parameters; identify and implement corrective actions when deviations from targets occur, and independently develop solutions and required measures.
Document and analyze trial outcomes, presenting results in reports and presentation formats.
Compile and evaluate trial data in the specified format.
Support production and technology departments in daily task resolution, participate in key production activities, and address complaints.
Handle special assignments as directed by management.
Promote a safety-first and prevention-oriented approach, adhering to employee protection guidelines, conducting regular safety briefings and audits, and following the "Occupational Safety for Managers" guidelines.
Contribute to technology transfers across global manufacturing sites for process improvement.
Manage budget and cost control, implementing corrective actions if variances arise.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate manager.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
In-depth understanding of production processes.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Proficiency in data gathering and analysis.
Goal-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Adaptable to change.
Proficient computer skills.
Able to handle confidential information.
