Role Summary:
The Process Engineer is dedicated to facilitating all aspects of the process and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes an understanding and use of various tools and continuous improvement processes such as PDCA, 5S, SMED and Kaizen activities. The role helps build the culture of constant improvement at every level of the organization. This role will also help see new products have a smooth and efficient transition to full-scale production.

Accountable for:
The process engineering role likely has some accountability for each of the below tasks, but may specialize in one or more areas depending on the needs of the plant.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and suggest various tools to help solve production related issues.
- Monitor and maintain areas of our 5S process including coaching of shop floor resources who might own a particular area. This can include monitoring the process, auditing the boards, coaching team members and 5S area leaders on importance and driving change.
- Participate in Kaizen Events. Higher level process engineers will be involved in leading kaizen events.
- Lead and direct activities that support continuous improvement such as Gemba Walks, Issue Boards, Rock & Boulder Boards, and Standard Work.
- Apply principles of continuous improvement in workstation layout and workflow design, inventory management, supply management.
- Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
- Can effectively take input from fellow team members and incorporate it into the process.
- This role will also help see new products have a smooth and efficient transition to full-scale production.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This job requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field.
- The person in this position will be required to show demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles and application of improvement tools.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing and seated work
- Occasional repetitious tasks with upper extremities
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry
- Attention to detail
- Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment
