Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer specializing in metal stamping processes. In this role, you will oversee and optimize production methods in the metal stamping press department. As a key contributor to cross-functional teams, you’ll represent manufacturing engineering throughout the design and development process, collaborating closely with other engineering functions and departments like production, research, marketing, and after-sales service.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate equipment, processes, operations, and assembly procedures to identify opportunities for time and quality improvements.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize stamping processes, including specifying forming and stamping equipment.
- Lead process development initiatives, manage projects, and implement problem-solving strategies.
- Provide engineering support to other departments as needed, following quality system procedures.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and work aids specific to the press department.
- Investigate and address tooling, assembly, and sequencing issues, initiating corrective actions such as tooling modification and machine programming.
- Participate in cross-department problem resolution teams to enhance production standards.
- Analyze supplier proposals for new equipment purchases and develop specifications for new production equipment, including full manufacturing lines.
- Assist in designing, installing, and debugging tooling and capital equipment, while supporting daily troubleshooting in the assembly and press shop.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives, including scrap, rework, and cycle time improvements.
- Implement continuous improvement processes to optimize current and new manufacturing methods.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a metal stamping environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Pro E, and Solid Works.
- Strong knowledge of stamping design applications, equipment, and systems relevant to the discipline.
- Experience in die design and/or Journeyman Tool and Die experience is a plus.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or 5 years of equivalent experience with demonstrated knowledge in the field.
- Equivalent combinations of experience, training, or education as approved by Human Resources.
Physical Requirements
- This role involves prolonged sitting, standing, manual dexterity, occasional stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
