Process Improvement Manager - BSA (Ellabell)
Summary The BSA Process Improvement HoS will lead and oversee the continuous improvement initiatives within the Battery Systems Assembly (BSA) Process Engineering department. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and driving innovation to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities The responsibilities of the BSA Process Improvement HoS include, but are not limited to:
- Leading process improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Developing and implementing Lean manufacturing techniques and principles.
- Conducting root cause analysis and driving corrective actions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and impact.
- Facilitating training sessions on process improvement methodologies and best practices.
- Managing and mentoring a team of process engineers and improvement specialists.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Preparing and presenting reports to senior management on improvement initiatives and outcomes.
- Supporting the development and execution of CapEx and OpEx plans.
- Utilizing SAP and other ERP systems for process tracking and management.
Basic Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP and ERP systems.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of production processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in SAP, ERP, and CMMS systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Practices.
- Understanding of Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Experience with CapEx and OpEx planning and management.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Preferred knowledge of Lithium-based battery systems.
- Preferred certification in Lean Six Sigma or related continuous improvement methodologies.
Working Conditions
- 20% on production floor, 80% in office work.
- Extensive walking and standing.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, laying on the floor, and climbing.
- Occasionally lift up to 45 lbs alone.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Team-based working environment.
- Required to wear PPE correctly at all times.
