Job Title: Process Technician
Job Description: This position provides support to product development scientist for research and development of new and existing products for engineering plastics by performing a wide variety of technical task;
• The technician must review and follow laboratory service requests for blending, compounding, molding.
• Operate extruders, molding machines, feeders and auxiliary equipment
• Weigh and blend raw materials for experimental formulations prior to compounding.
• Operate injection molding machines, conduct mold changes and knowledge of optimizing mold process conditions.
• Collect and report data from experiments.
• Wear safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• The technician understands the importance of process safety when operating a fork truck and applies all operating and safety procedures to ensure pedestrians are safe.
• Supports activities related to inventory of raw materials, developmental samples and commercial products.
• Must have fork truck licenses and operate all lift equipment such as fork-truck, pallet jacks, drum handlers and transport equipment.
• Must be able to safely lift a maximum of 55 lbs.
