The Procurement Project Manager position reports to Manager of Global Category Procurement for Sterigenics and is responsible to develop procurement strategies that support the success of capital and operational expenditure projects. This position requires the application of broad knowledge of the procurement function, its strategies, policies, work processes and contacts within the team. In addition, the position works cross-functionally to facilitate process and system improvements including not limited procure to pay process, supplier, and category management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, directs, and manages overall control and coordination of all activities in the CapEx and OpEx budget process.
- Contributes to the overall sourcing strategy for projects. Ensures vendor contracts and terms & conditions meet internal policies and protect company interests. Evaluates vendor risks and participates in due diligence.
- Establishes and leads effective cross functional project teams aligning internal and external stakeholders. Partners with vendors to ensure coordination between contractors/subcontractors
- Applies strong project management skills to ensure the on-time, on-budget completion of projects. Includes identifying and mitigating project risks, monitoring timelines, tracking budgets, coordinating communication with stakeholders, reporting status and escalating issues.
- Effectively manages multiple concurrent projects to ensure project success.
- Assists in RFP process, including the evaluation and onboarding of new engineering suppliers.
- Ensure all internal and external stakeholder activities are executed in consideration and compliance with applicable company policies and guidelines
- Evaluate opportunities to expand and partner with EH&S for Environmental and Social Governance initiatives.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or another related field.
EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIRED:
- 5-7 years experience in project management working in direct correlation with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders
- Stakeholder Ex: engineering and contractor project should adhere to EH&S standards
- Experience managing complex projects. Ability to develop scope, schedule, control budget, and appropriately manage priorities. Experience with formal project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) Certification in PMI (e.g. Project Management Institute) preferred
- Highly organized, motivated, and results oriented
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and work collaboratively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical skills, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent MS Office Suite skills including Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Knowledge using data visualization and Business Intelligence software, Power BI, experience preferred
- Jira, PMO software applications usage a plus
