Procurement Specialist - Power Industry - Sargent & Lundy

Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create purchase orders in S&L’s internal vender management systems
- Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriate
- Coordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnel
- Manage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projects
- Draft, assemble and issue request for proposal (RFP) packages to suppliers / subcontractors
- Support S&L clients in their procurement processes
- Evaluate proposals from suppliers / subcontractors
- Perform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontracts
- Negotiate and finalize terms and conditions, including those related to indemnities, warranties, liabilities, pricing, schedule, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate contract performance
- Record keeping / document control with audit involvement
- Processing vendor invoices for payment
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday spent in our Elkridge, MD office and two days from home.
Qualifications
Essential skills and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administration
- Strong written, verbal, & people communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessary
- MS Office Suite proficiency
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projects
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designation
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and MS Outlook
