We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our growing Information Technology (IT) team. This is a newly created position. The Procurement Specialist will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the procurement strategy, policies and procedures. This will include assisting with suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems and issues, assist with the contract lifecycle, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure alignment with company policies.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Engage in strategic sourcing activities and assist in optimization of operational support and processes across various functions, including vendor relationships, contracts, quality and compliance
- Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate identifiable risks throughout the procurement life cycle process in support of contract requirements, operational goals, and our business strategy
- Partner effectively with agency partners, legal, finance and other departments to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
- Utilize sourcing strategies that drive cost reduction and process improvement with the I.T. department and throughout the company
- Assist in the development of effective procurement procedures for a decentralized company
- Assist in maintaining solid working relationships with suppliers and identifying opportunities for new services
- Manage the electronic filing of contracts data (terms, contract dates, etc.) in contract software HighQ.
- Analyze contract data to uncover opportunities for cost reduction, consolidation of vendors, or improved terms
- Assist in the development of enhanced processes and procedures to promote continuous improvement, reduce costs, and create opportunities to implement new solutions
- Monitor contract lifecycle, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, or terminations
- Serve as a first point of contact for vendors and stakeholders regarding contract-related matters
- Manage, record and track procurement services for agencies through JIRA and other tools
- Conduct invoice verification with Accounts Payable department
- Facilitate administrative duties with all Procurement projects
- Be able to assist with back-fill and cross train positions within the Procurement Department
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a business-related field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a procurement department or similar environment
- Experience working with 3PL vendor management tools and supply chain contingency plans
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Working knowledge of JIRA is preferred
- Strong contract management and vendor relationship skills
- Strong problem-solving and negotiating skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks, and meet established goals and deadlines
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation Range: $28.85 - $31.25 per hour dependent upon experience
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
