About the Job
TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING . . .
- Reports to Director of Produce/Floral
- Participates in the creation and execution of the produce and floral vision and support of the company brand
- Maintains Produce/Floral database in the BR Data system
- Facilitates cross-market meetings & participates in weekly conference calls
- Communicates regularly with each Market Director and Market Merchandiser
- Works with Department Managers to assess trends in sales, labor budgets, gross targets, purchase analysis flow & reports
- Keeps abreast of new trends and current market conditions
- Facilitates distribution of products that provide merchandising opportunity for increased sales and profit
- Makes recommendations for best practices in merchandising and display maintenance
- Assists the director in producing the weekly order guide, product line, retail pricing and promotional strategy
- Provides regular feedback to director on product quality, appearance, flavor, etc.
- Provides feedback to the director and to our vendors on vendor performance
- Creates department schematics for seasonal resets
- Helps coordinate seasonal/event merchandising and assists with resets
- Provides feedback on market conditions and ensures ready for business standards are exceptional throughout the business day
- Ensures all cleanliness, sanitation and food safety requirements are being met, including verification of documentation (e.g. sweep sheets, temperature, and sanitation logs)
- Inspects sales floor, backrooms and coolers for cleanliness, safety, and sanitation
- Ensures adherence to set integrity, display size, and product levels to ensure best quality
- Provides feedback and direction on weekly/seasonal merchandising to maximize sales and margin
- Inspects and provides feedback on product quality, presentation, effective inventory management, and rotation
- Assists the market director and department manager in analysis of department, including evaluating the performance of the manager & staff
- Troubleshoots and makes corrections as needed with department managers where there are issues or negative trends occurring
- Reviews department schedules and staffing to ensure appropriate coverage throughout the business day
- Assists in the selection, development, training, & placement of managers
- Coordinates field trips for staff development and merchandising ideas
- Regularly tours competition in our market area
- Participates in department design, equipment, & layout in the event of a market remodel or new site
- Ensures the department is maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
- Provides excellent customer service
- Stays current with all training including online training and professional development opportunities
- Ensures the dissemination of and adherence to all company and department policies
- Supports and follows sustainability programs
- Supports and follows all safety and security policies
- Provides and demonstrates attitude of service to staff and guests

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF . . .
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a produce manager
- Experience managing a retail floral department preferred
- Knowledge of produce and cooking techniques
- Excellent guest service skills
- Must possess an attitude in being of service to others
- Demonstrates self-discipline and accountability
- Must have intermediate or higher computer skills including MS Office
- Must be accurate and detail oriented
- Must be a team player, a leader, and a positive role model
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and trust with a diverse group of staff, guests, and vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including spelling, grammar, and industry language)
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Ability to take direction and carry out department tasks and assignments

- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Requires frequent travel to all company locations throughout Snohomish, King, Kitsap, and Thurston counties
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Possess full body mobility (bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching) and have excellent manual dexterity
- Exemplifies health department standards
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- 18 years or older
Entry Level Compensation
USD $93,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Compensation
USD $114,000.00/Yr.
