Position Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety as the top concern for all employees.
- Lead the development of new adhesive, sealant, coating, and foam products by creating development strategies, setting experimental plans, and overseeing their execution in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Translate customer requirements and market insights into actionable product specifications and features.
- Develop a thorough understanding of products and applications to guide the team and support project work.
- Participate in trade shows and industry technical meetings to track technology trends, drive innovation, and ensure compliance.
- Regularly review projects to address challenges and meet deadlines while maintaining project quality.
- Foster continuous improvement and champion the use of Lean tools for consistent quality.
- Provide engineering support and direction to Manufacturing on production issues and equipment layout.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures, including testing protocols and corrective actions.
- Serve as a technical resource for external code and approval authorities.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer, or Material Science (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative, proactive, and action-oriented team player.
- Successful track record of cross-functional collaboration in product development.
- Product design experience, preferably related to construction applications (knowledge of polyurethane adhesive or coating is helpful).
- Positive attitude and sound judgment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in high-noise areas with appropriate hearing protection.
- Skill in operating a motor vehicle while maintaining safe driving practices and avoiding distractions, especially cell phones.
- Physical capabilities include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds.
