Product Development Engineer - ITS

Salary Range: $100K to $125K+ Permanent Position / Benefits

A Growing International Tire Company located in the Greater Akron / Canton, Ohio area is looking to hire an experienced Tire Development Engineer.

Candidate shall support the engineering efforts of the Tire Design and Tire Testing Team to develop prototype tires from concept to the production phase.

Candidate will determine the tire design parameters based on required performance to include tire force properties.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in new product design activities from initial concept through prototype manufacturing, and release for mass production
• Determine specific tire design parameters based on required tire performance using general knowledge of tire force properties, tire and vehicle dynamics, and tire uniformity and handling characteristics
• Provide input relating to such design features as tread pattern, mold contour and sizing, venting, rubber to void ratios, pattern noise, sidewall treatments and stampings
• Relate desired tire characteristics to construction configurations and materials to optimize performance and quality
• Develop product enhancements to raise the performance and quality level of existing items and/or reduce cost

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related engineering field
• Preferred greater than 5 years of experience in OE tire development.
• Relevant experience in tire or automotive industry
• Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft 365 or similar office document tools

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in local and international teams.
